Kananaskis Trailfinder has been updated to make it easier to use. It is intended to help you decide what trail to hike or snowshoe and to update trail information where trails have changed. It is driven by a database of 464 trails so far. Added are lists for snowshoeing and winter walking. Give it a try!
A loop for winter walkers and snowshoers from West Bragg parking that takes in parts of Braggin’ Rights, Reconnect and Long Distance trails.
The Greater Bragg Creek Trails Association has completed the first of its planned new trails at West Bragg. Congratulations! To be known as Snowshoe Hare, the new 5.4 km snowshoe trail starts and finishes at West Bragg parking lot. It has been well-signed for snowshoeing in either direction.
Pneuma The Moose Mountain Bike Trail Society (MMBTS) has completed (almost) the previously missing section of Pneuma between Elbow Valley and Sulphur Springs trails. The area between Station Flats and Canyon Creek Road has become a popular mountain biking destination, with more bikers than hikers on many of the trails. A map shows the conglomeration of trails in the area including some new “Downhill Specific” trails.
An excellent, easy 6 km mountain biking trail has been developed between the eastern end of the present Stewart Creek development and Deadman’s Flats. Apart from a short, somewhat boggy section, the tread is very good.
The Outdoors Forum from the old RMB site has been resurrected and is being hosted on the new RMB site using a new server and modern forum software. A delightful hiking trail along Carry Ridge in the Sheep River area of Kananaskis Country suitable for early-season hiking, but good all year.
