Snowshoed to Marushka Lake today (I love that name). In spite of it being a bluebird day, Brewster (my Chesapeake Bay Retriever) and I were the only ones on the trail. Lots of backcountry skiers heading to Tent Ridge. The trail is well-established, with 15 cm of new overnight snow. The East face of Mount Shark is heavily laden with snow, although I didn't see any avy activity. Highly recommended as an easy yet scenic stroll through Class 1 terrain. Brewster broke trail beside the showshoe trail for other dogs to use.
