High Country Cafe

When heading out for a long day in Kananaskis Country we sometimes treat ourselves to a bacon & egg breakfast. High Country Cafe near Millerville, on the way to Turner Valley, is one of our favourites. It’s open early: 6:00 am on weekdays and 8:00 am on weekends. There are 5 tables inside with seating for 18, and additional tables outside in the summer.

The early bird (to 11:00 am!) special on weekdays of 1 egg, 2 slices of bacon, 1 slice of toast and hash browns for $5.95 is an ideal pre-hike breakfast. If you want more you can get eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, toast and hash browns for only $10.95, and if you want something different they serve ribs, baked beans and fries for $12.95.

On fine-weather weekend days in summer they serve an extensive brunch that includes pancakes, french toast, muffins, fruit and yogurt in addition to the above-mentioned breakfast fare.

High Country Cafe is located on the west side of Highway 22, 3.2 km north of the Millerville Junction at the intersection with Highway 549. They are open Tuesday to Friday 6:00 am to 3:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Closed Monday.
