West Wind Pass Sept 17 | Trip Reports | Kananaskis Outdoors Forum

Took a dozen out of town guests up to the pass today for a quick morning hike. The unsettled weather of yesterday and this morning left snow down to the 1,800 m level and below in spots. Despite this, the trail was it's usual scrabbly self and only wet in some spots with no snow despite the pass' elevation of 2,000 m. A brisk +4° with a moderate wind at the pass at 11 AM. Fairly popular; there were at least 3 other fair sized parties on the trail today.

We stopped on Spray Lakes Dam for a moment to check out other conditions. Read's Tower has snow down to treeline and the Tower/Sparrowhawk col looked very snowy. Red Ridge also had snow down to treeline. Ha Ling is clear of snow to the top, as is the Windtower and Three Sisters Pass. The is no water falling at the Old Goat falls.
