This trail – no. 299 in Daffern, vol. 2, 3rd ed – makes for a fine outing on snowshoes, as we discovered on 27 March. It

leaves from the West Bragg parking lot on the Moose Mt. Road, which in about 1k crosses Bragg Creek on a bridge and in another .5k turns into an exploration road bound for a well site some 6k from the start. (Moose Mt. Road crosses Bragg Creek [no bridge] heading northwesterly uphill toward Telephone Trail.)  From the bridge onward the forest hugs the road, which up to this point is much more exposed. The result is a quiet trek though spruce, lightly covered in snow on this trip, ranging over gently rolling terrain. The main grunt comes about 300m before the split between road and (now) Tom Snow Trail, where the common trail rises 70m. At the split the exploration heads still further uphill more or less west for another kilometer to the well site. The Tom Snow trail veers southeast destined for Station Flats.

We started our return at the split (marked by an orange diamond and K-Country map). The round trip according to Gem Trek “Bragg Creek & Sheep Valley,” 5th ed. is 10k, which took us 3 hours to complete. Although there was no evidence of earlier snowshoeing, the base was solid all the way with perhaps 2 inches of new snow to break through. See Daffern’s description for further details on this trail.
