I walked both Belmore Brown and the "G8" summit within the last week and Old Baldy Ridge earlier this summer.
Those routes are getting a little narrower each year. On Belmore Brown in particular I dont appreciate the prickly pine needles, of the young trees.

I have an instant and simple solution, every trail should have a saw laying around, like the golf course rakes. You clear some overgrowth and leave the saw for the next one to clear the next bit overgrowth. If the saw worked up and down the trail a few times it would be more defined and no one person has to interrupt their walk for more then a few minutes at a time.

Quite a few people I know carry a pruning saw for this very purpose. Tony did a blog on it a while back. Re Belmore Browne, the logging road at the start is due to be re-opened soon for more logging in the area.
