Over the years, the marking of the intersection of the Sparrowhawk Tarns trail and the side trail leading to Read's Ridge, Read's Tower and the scramble to Mt. Sparrowhawk has grown in clarity. It started as a flat rock on the ground (as mentioned in the Copeland's book), then grew into a cairn. Now someone has written a direction sign on a broken tree, the only downside to which is that the portion with the writing faces uphill, so that to see it, you have to pass it. Still, it's hard to miss.
